Roofing SEO Content
Pages that answer what roofing buyers ask, backed by work you've actually done.
Quick answer
Planning
Start with a topic map, not a keyword list
A topic map groups searches by what the person wants. “Roof replacement cost” and “how much is a new roof” share an intent and belong on one page. “Emergency roof leak repair” is a different intent and gets its own. This prevents several of your pages competing for the same search.
| Page type | Purpose | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Core service page | Explain one service fully: when it's needed, process, materials, proof | One thin page listing every service |
| Service-area page | Show real work and local knowledge in a genuine service area | Same text with the city name swapped |
| Owner question page | Answer a specific question in depth | Generic blog posts unrelated to services |
| Project page | Document a completed job with photos and details | Stock photos presented as your work |
Service areas
Avoiding repetitive city pages
Mass city pages are the most common content problem we see on roofing sites. They rarely rank well, and they can drag down the rest of the site. Instead, each area page should contain something only that page could say:
- Jobs completed in that area, with photos and short descriptions
- Local roofing considerations you genuinely deal with (housing stock, weather patterns, permit steps you handle)
- Which services you offer there, linking to the full service pages
- Area-specific reviews, quoted only with the customer's permission
If an area has none of that yet, it's usually better to wait than to publish an empty page.
Example
Illustrative example: a roof replacement page outline
This outline is illustrative only. It shows the structure we aim for, not a page from a client site.
- Direct answer: who you are, that you replace residential roofs, and where.
- Signs it's time to replace: written from what your crews actually look for.
- Materials you install: only those you offer, with honest pros and cons.
- Your process: inspection, quote, scheduling, tear-off, installation, clean-up, final walkthrough.
- Recent projects: two or three real jobs with photos.
- Questions owners ask: timeline, permits, weather delays, warranty terms you offer.
- Next step: one clear way to request an estimate.
Proof
Why project proof matters
Specific, dated proof helps visitors decide and gives AI assistants concrete facts to cite. We ask for photos, job notes and permission to use them, and we never present stock images as your work.
Content works best on a technically sound site; we check that first in the roofing SEO audit. For O'Danny Boy Builders, 25 service pages were optimized in the first month; see the case study.
